Kitchen Garden

COMMUNITY KITCHEN GARDEN

Blackheath Community Kitchen Garden is a Sacred Heart Parish Laudato Si’ initiative responding to the ‘cry of the earth’ and the ‘cry of the poor’.  Volunteers grow produce organically for themselves and those in need in the local community. Produce from our kitchen garden is distributed to those in need through Vinnies and Blackheath Area Neighbourhood Centre. It also is used to make soups for Sacred Heart’s joint venture with the Blackheath Uniting Church - Soup to Warm the Heart. Some produce is sold to raise funds for the garden activities. Volunteering in the garden brings participants other benefits such as time for reflection, companionship and the opportunity to learn new skills.  All welcome!

Time: Every Wednesday from 10am till 12 noon and 1st and 3rd Saturdays from 11am till 1pm

Location On the grounds of Sacred Heart Parish Church, entry via 165 Wentworth St
